Special Issue: IEEE BSN 2015

Since 2004, the annual International Conference on Wearable and Implantable Body Sensor Networks (BSN) has provided a forum for researchers and leaders from academia, government, and industry to share technical advances and new initiatives in body-worn sensors and mobile devices. Conference topics have included wearable, ingestible, and implantable sensors and electronics, advanced analytics and signal processing, body area networks, and systems that integrate all of these components. A diverse set of applications has also been represented, ranging from medical screening and monitoring, to physical and cognitive performance monitoring and enhancement, to sensing and interacting with the environment. This special issue includes four papers that expand on work presented at the 12th BSN Conference, held in Cambridge, MA, USA, in June 2015, which included 85 oral and poster presentations. All four papers went through the rigorous review process of the IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics (J-BHI).
